SUSPENSION N WHEELS, WHAT TO DO, WHAT TO DO???????

Post by whythef@#!not »

GDAY FELLAS

AFTER SOME OPINIONS HERE, GOT A 94 GQ UTE, IT HAS 33s AND A 4" LIFT KIT WITH ES9000 SHOCKS AND A 2" BODY LIFT. IT IS AN EVERYDAY CAR AND WOULD LIKE TO UPGRADE TO 35s AND DROP IT DOWN 2".

HERES MY QUESTION, AM I BETTER OFF GETTIN RID OF THE BLOCKS OR SHOULD I CHUCK SOME 2" COILS IN. WILL THE ES9000 SHOCKS WORK WELL WITH A 2" COIL AND WOULD THE SPRING POP OUT ON FULL FLEX.

ALSO THE DIFF LOOKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN PULLED BACK A BIT FROM THE 4 INCH LIFT AS IT HAS ONLY PLATES AND THE 33 IS VERY CLOSE TO THE GUARD WHEN FULLY LOCKED AND IM GUESSIN THE 35s WILL RUB, WILL DROPPIN IT 2" PUSH THE DIFF BACK FORWARD AGAIN.

BUT LIKE THE CLEARANCE OF THE 4" AND THE FLEX SO WOULD LIKE TOO TAKE THE BLOCKS OUT, THEN IM GUESSIN WOULD HAVE TO GET DROPBOXES.

WHAT DO YA RECKON FELLAS???????????????

Stop yelling for one.

get rid of body lift, and sell to some other poor unsuspecting pleb.

You can get good flex out of any proper sized lift, you dont need a 54ft lift to get good flex. you can get excellent flex from 2inch lift.

SORRY BOUT THAT

get some drop boxes and run standard arm and superior flex arm

and drop the body lift out

chop the guards and run 35s

Thinking thats the way im gonna go, dont think i should have to chop guards to get 35s to fit, if your running the superflex arms do you still have to have dropboxes???

Ditch the body lift for sure. That part of your question's easy.

Whether 35s are actually an "upgrade" depends on other things. But hey, if you want them you want them, we all know how that goes :)

Yes its only 1" but thats 1" hight gained on the diff clearence.

IMO, Ditch the body lift. taking out the 2" body lift will lower the centre of gravity and hence make the vehicle more stable in theory.

I ran 35's on a 3" suspension lift for a while on my GU with no real problems other than a little rubbing on full lock, just couldnt resist the "look" of the 6" lift I now have ( hand it has made a big difference in aproach, departure and ramp over angles, mostly on departure due tot eh gas tank though.
