does anybody know what this is??

Post by psyosphere »

Hi just wondering what this part is on my NIssan Patrol Mq L28 motor, i think it is a manifold pressure sensor but could be wrong, as im installing a jaycar programmable ignition timing system.
it has 2 electrical connectors and has a vacuum hose that goes to the manifold, also im missing a hose off it too which io circled in yellow in the picture does anybody know where that hose should connected too.
i hop ths is a manifold sensor so that i dont have to hunt around at wreckers to find one or find a MAP sensor

Possibly a throttle advance for the A/C???

Never owned an L28 patrol, but thats my guess.

Somewhere onto your throttle body. Basically, when you hit the A/C button, that little diaphram increases the throttle (via vacuum or pressure - i dont know) to compensate for the extra load on the motor so that it doesn't stall.

You should have a vacant barb or port on your carby somewhere. Look up your carby exploded view diagram and it should show you.
