Quality Cranking Battery ?
Need a new cranking battery for the GU and curious to know opinions on brands. Occasionally required for winching but not often.
What have you used and how is/was the quality and life of it.
I run a Optima deep cycle and have had mixed results and don’t particularly want to spend a fortune so lead acid maybe the best alternative.

Can you elaborate on these 'mixed results'? Is that the yellow top? What do you run off it? (cranking/winching/fridge etc)sootygu wrote:I run a Optima deep cycle and have had mixed results ..
Was looking into getting one myself...
Re: Quality Cranking Battery ?
I had a blue top (i think) several years ago and it failed in the middle of the Cape after 6 months. I had to buy something up there to keep me going but when I got back to Melbourne they replaced it with a yellow top. This runs as the second battery for fridge, lights ect. Has been good so far.dogbreath_48 wrote:Can you elaborate on these 'mixed results'? Is that the yellow top? What do you run off it? Several people from our club run Optimas and around 3 of them have had problems. Not that great when you consider the price.

Looks like a big battery, how do you fit it in?
I have a Delkor in the trailer and so far has been good. Do have a part number for this one.
