My sons auto hubs on his GQ are stuffed and we were told you can just bolt on GQ manual hubs. Bought two of them but the drive clutch on the end of my manual axle is nothing like the end of the Auto axle. Does something have to be removed from the end of the axle area for it to reveal the drive clutch assembly that is the same as mine that has the manual hubs. There appears to be two little knobs that can be squeezed together with pliers but does that release something somehow. Any assistance would be great.
Ive posted a clearer picture now, hopefully.

Mate l had changed mine as well all you do is pull the circlip off and pull the cupling of for the auto hubs and behind that should be a little washer that goes back on the axle and then put the new gear on the axle and return the circlip and bolt the new hubs on.....this is how l did mine and l think it's right but if wrong someone will corect me..
So once we get the Auto bits off we need to still attach the Drive Clutch to the end of the axle. That will then mate with the New Hub? Or are you saying once we get the Auto bits off the Drive clutch is actually on the axle already so that the manual hub will then bolt on and match up?
Found out we need shorter bolts for starters, does anyone else know whether the driveclutch end thats on the end of my Manual hub axles is buried in here anywhere on this Auto hub axle?

hi mate
you still have to remove those bits from the hub. All you should see is the bearing lock ( 2 phillips head screws)
you are missing the drive hear from the manual hub
you need the drive gear from the manual hub and teh circlip ( which goes on the circlip groove at the end of the axle) and the large spacers that slide into the hub ( there is 2, one that slides in around teh bearings and one that the drive hear for the manual hub sits in)
and the bolts

Thanks everyone. It was easy once we removed the circlip the old Auto bits came off and we were back to the end of the axle where the two philips head screw heads were visible as Jessie928 said. Then we fitted the parts required to convert it (got them from Halls 4x4 wreckers $95 the lot for both sides) two spacers (like egg rings) the drive clutch, put the circlip back on after a few efforts the axle keeps sliding in and you cant get to the slot to put the circlip in. Then attach the manual hubs with new shorter bolts (came as part of the kit mentioned above) All appears to be working fine and no more horrible noise when driving around in 2wd.
