I've given up on the factory wiring in my 80 Series Sahara. The antennae is supposed to have auto as well as up/down override functions and the button has these 3 little buttons built into it. After checking all the wiring and fixign a couple it would appear that the little ECU that controls all this might be cactus. Also it's hard to check properly as there are so many interconnected plugs as the Sahara had amps etc as well. It's also hard to work out which factory wire is actually the trigger for the antennae as the wiring diagrams seem to show a couple of possibilities.
Anyway I'm over chasign this and it's not worth chasing other second hand actuators. The antennae works from direct power so I'm no w thinking either trash the original one and put in an aftermarket auto one trigger from normal headunit feed. Or set up relay and wiring to trigger factory one off headunit.
So my main question is - is there a relay option available that supplies power to either of 2 pins alternatively or do I need to wire in 2 relays. I'm assuming the aftermarket ones use a double sided relay or do they swap the voltage some other way.
I'm thinking that setting up a relay and wiring is the cheapest option and I'll just bypass the switch and pretend it doesn't exist but need to know what relay to chase. Also does it need some sort of voltage cut out for when it gets to fully up/fully down so supply is cut or does the motor have this function built in.
