front brake pad guides

Post by ferozious »

Any one know if and where you can source front brake pad
guides for the feroza.....you know the little pieces of metal installed
at each end of the pad that stop it from moving.....
mine are RS which causes a lot of unwelcome clunking
when braking.

Well apart from one of the Toyota suggested suppliers of new Hatsu parts or a wrecker.....

I made some out of shim spring steel and they seemed to last. Made them with tin snips but had to soften them a little to get them to bend without snapping.

Took me ages to find out what was clunking in the front - til i noticed it didn't happen when i had the brakes on..... DOH.
( usual disclaimers )

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.

I bought some from Daihatsu when they were still around, they weren't very expensive (from memory.)
