alright, seach doesnt work for me anymore, even when i type the word "series" into the toyoya section it says not matches found, fuggit, whatever, thats not my problem...
Just need to be pointed into the right direction...
Problem: over the last few months, the old 60series diesel has been getting smokier and smokier upon startup... This week, still smokier, but definately taking longer and longer to fire, up until now which brings me on here, it wont even start... And im not gunna keep firing away till my batteries die completely...
Any tips... Im sure ive read on here before that the likely problem is injectors, but just wondering other possibilities and what i could try now to get the crunt started...

ok, found this in another section. Seems it could apply to me, as it did seem to start a lot rougher on cold mornings...

Ok, well, i started thinking about glowplugs, and took out the first one to have a look, tested it using two bits of wire and the battery, looked ok, then once i had put it back in i looked along the rail and seen the rear glowplug. How i didnt notice this first i dunn...
10seconds before i took the pics, that arm was joined by the smalled piece of corroded metal, and no sooner had i touched it, it broke clean out... Im guessing it was melted like that due to it arc'ing out from the corrosion?
So i went about taking the corroded arm off the back, inturn snapping the top of the rear glowplug, no biggy, looked like it could do with replacing anyways.
Having never realy taken glowplugs out before, is it normal for them to be that oily?
So, with a few new parts, she fired straight up, and with not nearly as much white smoke upon startup that id been experiencing over the past week..

when i stripped down my 40 series 2h with 350k on the clock i found quite a few things wrong valve stem seals perished and bits of them missing at least 4 cylinders with cracked rings bores scrached to all buggery but it still went ok ran smoth enough after the rebuild it s a rocket know helps with a hair dryer on the side
