For our Team- The Pansies consisting of Guts(Dave) and me(Tony) in the nominated Winch Vehicle, Sloshy(Dan) and Ryan(not sure he is a member here),Wicked(Ben) and Nick And Rellow(Evan) our Team Manager. (I would like to thank Ben for the name which actually turned out to get a lot of laughs :D)

Non of us had ever competed at a Logan Challenge and Ben was the only Member that had ever even been to one. So we basicaly had no idea what we were in for. And went in with the attitude to have fun and it stayed that way all weekend for everyone except Guts who kept wanting to argue with everyone :D No one listened though except Sloshy who got his dummy a little dirty on the tyre winching stage

We had a ball. Didnt take anything real seriously and still came 5th. If you have never entered but have given it some thought get your entries for next years event in early. You wont regret entering. This was one of the best event i have ever entered. From our point of view the event was very well run and all the officials were very easy to get along with and answered any questions we had. After the event our team all sat around and could not fault it in any way.

A big  needs to got to the Logan Club, This years Logan Challenge Organisers and all the officials that volunteered their time. Also Thanks to Ian and Toni and their team of helpers from The Springs 4wd Park for providing a great venue for this event and allowing us to tear it to bits for 2 days and nights and also cooking up some great food.

Personaly i need to thank all my other team mates that made this event so enjoyable and also thank Nicks dad Craig for supporting us all weekend and lending a hand outside of competition any time he could.

The only advice i can give other competitors is to try and manage their time a little better and remember to just enjoy yourselves and dont get to serious about whats going on around you. Also please keep in mind both the officials and the organisers are doing what they are doing because they enjoy doing it not because they are getting payed the big bucks so please try and keep this in mind before you get all worked up about something and start abusing them. They are all volunteering their time so we have somewhere to compete. Without them we have nothing.

Best fun was the GPS stage. We got 9 points but still got 0 points, but it was the most fun part of the wekend for Ruff and I
How good was that GPS run :?: This single stage had to be the most fun ive had in years at an event. Although we ran it with only one vehicle which ment we actually got a DNS for this stage(we were the last team at this SS anyway so we were not holding any other teams up).

Dave i forgot to tell you we actually got 10 points as #8 had been taken down by mistake by the other team when the marshal asked us over the radio to bring in the tags as we got them :D

Are there any other teams that competed that would be interested in a GPS event that was set up the same as this but with only single cars rather than 3 car teams? Me and Guts are as keen as to compete in an event that was set up this way and have a couple of people that may be interested in organising it if we can get the support of competitors.

The only thing that i think could make this event better at this location would be a water truck to keep the dust down in the camp ground and maybe the main track back to the house.

Otherwise it was a great event!
i got nothin

Unfortunately almost all events suffer from either huge amounts of dust or mud. Dirt tracks and huge numbers of rigs moving over them several times a day each its something that we just have to put up with.

Agree 100%.
One of the things I thought was really cool with the organisers was how when asked they change the morning drivers briefing location to the camp area  This showed me that they were listening to the competitors and taking what they say in

That was my first Logan Challenge I have been too, let alone compete in. It was my first competition experience, other than intra-club stuff. I friggin loved it.... and want more.

My Team - SOC (Silly old cogders) Racing:
1) Marty - dual cab, white and green, turbo diesel hilux, double locked on 35 claws. Pete was navi.
2) Kevy - single cab petrol hilux double locked on 33 MTRs. I navied in this one.
3) Glenno - petrol Pajero locked front on 33 muddies. Marties 17 year old son navi in this one.

Our team manager was Marty's wife Debbie, who did an excellent job.

We are all members of the Gold Coast 4wd Club, but the team is outside of the club. I was actually asked to navi about a month out from the comp.

We had no preparation as a team. Friday afternoon was when I knew who's car I was in!!!

A massive thumbs up goes to the Logan Club for setting that up. All the officials and helpers were fantastic.

Huge thanks to Ian and Toni at The Springs for letting us use and abuse the park, and the food was fantastic. Big cheers to the helpers there too. Could you put the heaters on next time!!! -6 Friday night

For us to come 2nd in the event shows that consistency, limiting penalties, and teamwork is what the event is all about.

It was great to out faces to some names. It was a pity my missus couldn't make it to spectate - I missed her all weekend.

Till next year
Heath & Melissa - 93 GQ LWB.

Yeah Guts :finger: We spent most of the time arguing and no winching  Great team, had a ball, never driven the hilux like that at speed before,(it felt fast anyway) it was awesome fun just wanted to keep going around the night stage, just need to disconnect the hydro though for that sort of thing  Can't believe we did that well with the attitude we had and what about the compass stage wtf? can't believe that
Guts might like to argue but is gracious in defeat......

'Team Redlands' aka Simon Slayers - had a ton of fun - especially on the high speed events. It's a bit of a 'rush' to turn into the top of "Beer O'Clock Hill" in 1st, select 2nd & floor it to the bottom.

All 3 vehicles had issues over the week-end with winch solenoids failing, steering rods bending, alternators x 2 dying, free wheeling hub stripping, etc etc, but we fixed these or lived with them (swapping batteries a few times each day) to keep going. We ended up with 6 stage wins & 4th overall so we were pretty stoked.
