calling all v8 40series owners!
just wondering what radiator you run?
mine is gunna have the 350 in it pretty soon and my other one with a 307 and standard 40series radiator didnt cut the mustard!
any pics of your radiator support bracket would be a bonus aswell

i think mine has the standard end tank and 4 core inserted by PWR on the gold coast. Has a custom sheet metal shroud probably 2 inch thick that the fan sits inside of, spacers pushing it forward from the block, never overheated. its great.
even when you spell out commonsense to the RTA they still ignore it!
my dads 45 wid a 350 has standard radiator and we did a trip at xmas was heating a bit so we took the bonnet off and it cooled down but now we put a wrx basically scoop backwards above the radiator and works as good as no bonnet

personally i disagree. i had one, and they are a plastic tank. if they go and mine did they are totally fkd. metal atleast can be soldered or welded.big scotty wrote:i would put a 80 one in as that is what i have and it does not over heat
i now run a 60 series radiator. i had the inlet and outlet moved to suit the 304 motor. and i run a 60 chassis so it fit fairly well. they are a thick radiator but not too wide. to prevent turning issues.
and i also run both auto and a power steering cooler on it.
i have an engine fan and no shroud, and when it starts to warm up a 16inch thermo on the front for that extra bit of air pushing.

I'd have thought you would be better off ditching the front mounted thermo and making up a good shroud. You already have 2 coolers restricting air flow, last thing you need is another fan on the outside blocking what little air the engine driven fan is trying to pull through the radiator. Have you had overheating issues with your current setup? thus far no issues once the thermo is on.
the gauge starts to move without it. then once it is on the gauge heads south again.
and for khany427, i think a 60 radiator personally as they are narrower.
an 80 i think you will find will stick out abit causing more dramas.
