I can rotate my rear tail shaft about 1/4 turn. Is this normal? It clunks when accelarating away from a stationary position. It has no forward/backwoard movement only rotational.
Is it the diff or the transfer that may have the problem? 1990 petrol diffs to sierra transfer.
Any ideas would be great.
Cheers,
Andrew

Check your centre bearing too- Mine loosened up over 340,000kms, and had a heap of play, when i re-torqued the nut after putting the new bearing in, the staking was about 2/3 of a turn further around!
