What is the lightest gauge ally checkerplate available, something to dress up sill panels ?

You can get some .6mm stuff around but it's not really a true checkerplate pattern and is pretty crappy given the thickness. it's the stuff Jayco used on their outback vans.

1.6mm is most common. Propeller plate from memory might come in 1.2 been a long while since we used any. It's the mirror shiney stuff and has single opposed checks as opposed to checkerplate which is 5 bars.

Botjh would take a little bit of work to bend around a sill though if you don't have access to bender or rollers but can be done.

Its it PURELY FOR APPEARANCE then you can buy self adhesive vinyl in imitation checker plate. Looks like the real thing unless you look closely.

Sold by signwriting supply companies.

Of course if you need strength then its not for you.......

I wouldn't be too inclined to use the really thin stuff. I think I have seen 0.8mm. But it is too weak even for a cosmetic application imho.

hi i used 1.8mm on all the bottom of my doors and it work's great. I wouldn't go with any thing lighter are much thicker as it is hard to mold round your truck
