could be water contamination as i cleaned engine bay when prob started. I don't know were to find what controls the choke. Any ideas would be great, thanx

Does it idle rough or smooth but to low it's all computor controled could be a wet plug lead if it's running rough.

take plug leads 3 and 4 out and wd40....also do under the dizzy cap...bet you have water in there

When it's cold idles rough, (some times stalls). When it's hot idles alright but lower than usual. I'll try plugs in the morning.

mine does this aswell. same symptoms.

I have been told to check teh rubber hoses that go from the airbox to the throttle body for cracks.

If not depending on the year of your 80 check the 02 sensor in the exhaust under the drivers footwell.
