I can't praise the service and advice that I got from Keith at RoverTracks enough. He returned all of my many emails within a day or two and he even called me to discuss what products I wanted. As far as I am concerned, he went well out of his way to help me and all I was going to order was about $300 - 400 worth of stuff.
In the end I bought out half his stock - Front and rear axels, CVs, drive flanges, and steering relocation kit. All of this (with freight) was about the same as just front and rear axels from an Oz source.
He also said that his new RoverTracks axels for 24 spline diffs are ready for release in the next few weeks. Apparently they will be a new design and stronger than the previous ones that were forced into a very, very premature retirement.
I will let you all know how these axels perform in my Rangie when it is all put together.

Custom axles are much easier to get done compared to CVs...
I guess Keith would be more than happy to offer a wider range of them,
but considering all the effort he's putting into the rebirth of the Longtracks I think another style of CV would be a totally different story...
You know CV manufacturers are bad beasts to deal with
In the end there a new and improved product will be available again and this will make most of Rover owners happy

but as i have stated, alot of people already have good aftermarket axles and dont want to spend dollars replacing them. there is no advantage, in my mind having 30 spline cv, when you have 24 at the diff end!
i could understand if it was a whole 30 spline up grade, side gears, cv input and drive flange......
remember to make a 23spline imput cv all they have to do is broach the star differently, now thats even more simple than building an axle!

I wonder if there were other factors that led to the use of 30 spline. Commonality with the Long 30/30 sounds like the most obvious. At least with this setup, when they break they wont take out the CV, where an axle is a lot cheaper to replace. Not that it affects me, but you have a good point Serg.
Re the MD axles, the dog just slides on an extension of the 24 spline - at least with my axle (which I dont run MD on). Its probably very easy to include - assuming that Keith has control over that.

but as i have new MD axles, im not going to get RT, or longfield cv's.
regarding RT, if my axles are made from Hytuf and waisted, why would i go backwards and get new ones made from 4340 and not waisted?
if Keith can get cv's made, one option would be to get a stubless cv made (like the R606665) but with 30 spline output(female) then all he would need is 2 different stars one 30 and one 23.
by making one cv like this you can cover all aplications for all drop in rover stuff and 30 spline upgrade, just by making different stub shafts.... 1 cv, 2 stars and this would keep costs down.
if i was getting cv's made i would not make the balls smaller than OEM, just increase the bell dia as much as posible. make the bell out of hytuf or 300m and look at getting the star and cage made of atleast these or better.
balls are just balls, dont need to be too special.

no i did not. i have 4 brand new longfield30/30 sitting on a shelf here. not going to use them either.
i was looking for something more drop in. This is a daily driver and i cant be waiting for custom stuff to be made if it breaks, or i have to get double of everything so i have spares...........
