First of all I don't have a problem with engineering my truck, I am just trying to do this the right way the first time.
I am getting conflicting reports of what I need to do to re-register my wagon as a ute.
RTA Tech says I just need an adjustment of records to change the body shape and seating capacity from the wagon to the ute, but the blue slip guy reckons that I need a engineers certificate.
Its a Standard GQ Wagon going to a standard GQ ute. No mods etc at this stage as I want it drivable then the mods start.
Can anyone that has done this give me some advice on what to do next ?
I am going to ring RTA Tech again in the morning and might even go see the local RTA, but anyone who has done this that can give me some advice would be appreciated.
Cheers Nick

You may need to get your blue slip guy to ring his RTA advisory person so that he has a clear understanding of it as well.
My blue slip guy was pretty sure he knew what the go was and he still rang because I gave him the 'what ifs" and 'buts' that I have heard.
Its a re-body. The car is identified by its chassie and engine block.
The tags on the body stay on the body, very important, even if the body is a later year model.
The year model is the chassie year model.
Get a cab that was built later than the chassie and it will be sweet.
AND no engineering, so long as it BOLTS on.
Should cost about $80
