i would probably just run snakes shock hoops if you are gunna change towers? i think by memory that they give you an extra 2-3 inchs of up travel and allow you to run eye to eye shocks
i paid $180 for mine and thats hoops, braces and bolts
just my opinon any way ?

only cheap wine comes in 5 litres..........
i think the snake shock hoops raise the upper mount about 7" where as the ford towers only raise it about 4.5".
there's some good info on the ford mounts here http://www.wildyoats.com/ford_shock_mounts.htm

I run 9012's, five way adjustable's.
I am yet to use every setting, when i was able to drive my rig on the road i would use 5 for heavy loads, 3 for general use and 1 for off-road.
Now they just stay on 1.
I could not see how anyone could use or even feel the difference between 1 and 2 on the new 9 way adjustables.

Big red,
the same length can be obtained in either the 5000 series or the 9000 (including the new 99000 series) with one exception as far as I believe. I have a pair of the new 99036 which is 36" extended and longer than the 99012 (shich were the longest previously) which are about 14 3/4" or there abouts. The 9 stage adjustment is just a few extra numbers on the dial to split it up. For example 1 on the new = 1 on old, 3 on new = 2 on old, 5 on new = 3 on old and so on.
I don't need the extra length of the longer 99036 but for the same price I might as well as I have to make custom mounts anyway.
I can't tell the difference between say 5 and 7 let alone one number apart.
I find that the breaking up of the dial is pointless as the dial doesn't want to locate itself into the "in between" settings. So as I said, the extra settings are no more than a few extra numbers on the dial.
BTW I think that the new series may be called 99000 "x" for extreme or something

To be brutally honest, I've hardly noticed (with fairly limited testing) a difference from one end of the scale to the other. Mine also have a tendancy to change positiion over time. That is unless someone is *ucking with me!

There shouldn't be any difference between say one 9012 and another 9012 as the part numbers refer to the physical dimensions of the shock absorber.
Hope this helps.
