need sizes req.for making drop boxs
need sizes req.for making drop boxs
As a struggling family man i cant afford to lash on a set of drop boxes (Ok the missus wont let me ) and also being a sheety i making my own drop boxes.
My delema is that my rig is a daily comuter and i cant get the size of the hole that the arms and bushes fit into and also the distance between the faces required for the bush to bolt up correctly. I also would be very appreciative if someone can give the size of the bung required to bolt into the original mounting hole.
Here is dodgy drawing of dimensions i need any help greatly appreciated
Thanx in advance

Hey guys just be aware that on those plans you will have to make certain adjustments to suit your actual lift. Probably obvious to most on this forum but have had a few questions in regards to this when I posted them on another forum. Cheers again for hosting them for me festy.

Thanks festy and big Mav. I've been wanting to make a set of these for a while now as they're just ridiculously overpriced in the stores. As i have offset bushes in mine i'd have to buy the boxes and a set of new bushes which would bring the cost close to that of dropped arms.
As the hole centre relates to difference between standard height and vehicle's lifted height. Does anyone know what the height of a standard GQ patrol was?
Also, what's peoples general consensus on drop boxes? Do they help alleviate front end problems? Improve offroad articulation? Do they get hung up on stuff much?

I have Superiors drop boxes and i noticed the difference they made straight away and that was 'on road'!!
They have improved the handling big time, I do a lot of river stuff and that means boulder bashing...they have never got caught up yet and i don't notice any clearance issues if that helps.
