Hey Diz

I have no idea as no-one has rung to Nominate !!!

I have spoken to lots of people who are interested and have said they want to come or are coming , I'm just taking things as they happen , I just hope I print off enough road books.

The event is a test this year to see if it works , I really hope it does as its something a little different that hopefully appeals to all 4wders. If it works then I will probably run it twice next year (if we get that far)

Ok

THINGS YOU WILL NEED

two cars , two drivers , two navigators (min)
helmets for all crew (if you attack competative stages)
gloves for navigator
std recovery gear (rated rec points , rated shackles , strap , dampener MIN STD)
DIGITAL CAMERA or you cant record your efforts
Pens and paper/notebook an advantage

THINGS YOU COULD NEED IF YOU HAVE ONE

GPS
Compas

If there are any questions please give me a buzz or better still , post here and I will endevour to answer straight away.

If my phones dont answer please keep trying as the both got distroyed yesterday (Bag fell off my bike and got run over by semi) BUGGER.

PLEASE CALL AND NOMINATE , its simple , team name , car one , car two , contact No. EG Team City-View , Jimny , GQ wagon , 0424568886

Ok one week to go. Back to work

Cheers

Something I forgot to mention , It would be safe for all competitors to have their 3rd party CTP extension. Although its only a novelty event , it is best to be covered. The dates are the 6th and 7th of Sept. Just bring the paperwork with you rego papers for me to check.

What happens if the vehicle is not yet registed? Not able to compete?

The minimum requirement is 3rd party CTP , which you can get under recreation rego , so thats all you need for this one. As the event is a day in the park , so as to speak , and there are no main timed or observed stages , the CTP is something I would suggest would be best to have just to cover yourself , but generally you dont have to have it when you come to the park and just drive around , only when you do set stages in certain events. Like I said I believe it would be an advantage and I would get one just to cover myself if I we coming on the weekend.

peter for 3rd party extension from suncorp you will need to have the event sanctioned by the local police and suncorp will need to see a copy of the letter before they will issue a certificate. anybody with suncorp insurance should take the oportunity to change to another insurer when they renew their rego as suncorp appear to be the only one with this new rule. ps just had major drama getting cover for logan challenge which is how i found out. steve

Looking into it.

It seem that from Suncorp's viewpoint , that they want to see that the event is legit and actually exists , not just a bunch of mates being hoons and getting insurance covearge to cover their fun. Although with speed events (rally/offroad) the police need to be aware and issue a permit for the event , events like ours held at various 4wd parks dont need police sanctioning. Suncorp looks to other bodies like CAMS , CCDA , 4wd Aust. , or 4wd QLD and if the event is smaller than those bodies they look toward the net and forums as to the organisation and promotion of these smaller events as to their legitimacy.

The biggest thing is the issue of information , Event Name , Event Dates , Event Location and Event Organiser/Promotor. In this case its the City-View 24 Hour held at City-View 4x4 Park on the 6th and 7th of Sept run by City-View 4x4 Park. If you just ask for a CTP ext for the 6th and 7th for some event at City-View , you will probably have problems or be declined.

Suncorp are cracking down and expect the other insurance providers to follow suit. I will come back here with some answers when I have them given to me. I have also asked the question re CTP and CTP Ext , what is the cut off point. Is driving around a park answering some questions ok for simple CTP or does all organised runs , trials , tag-a-longs , events etc need CTP Ext. I will let you all know.

Call me if you have any questions.

Like I said above Huub , Tough Tracks is a recognised event run by the Tough Tracks Club and so all they need to know once you mention Tough Tracks , is the dates and the location. As was mentioned by Steve the Logan Challenge , a once a year event was the one questioned , it seems that events run here at City-View will not be an issue either. I am waiting to find out the criteria of when an extension is required and when std CTP is adequate.

Compulsory 3rd Party is to cover personal injury to you or someone else if your car is involved in an incident/accident. The CTP Ext is for when Events are organised this is considdered to be not everyday driving. (Im getting that clarified)

Ok the issues with Suncorp and City-View events has been sorted. All of this years events at City-View have been sanctioned. If you are with Suncorp and you are having difficultys , please get the opperator to ring Head Office , CTP Dept and talk to James , or if you ring James direct on the Suncorp Head Office main No he can do the Ext over the fax or email it directly to you.

Like I said it is worth having the CTP Ext to be assured of your coverage in the park in the event of an accident or injury involving you or your vehicle during any organised event in any 4wd park.

cheers

Was just in there and its the same it has been for the couple of years I have been competing, I ask them if there has been any change or if there is going to be a change to the regulations and they said no. Still simple as ;)

Its 12:09 and the road books are printed , the patrol is up in the park with a flat tyre and Im stuffed. Going to bed , see you all in the morning.

Pete

PS if any of you havent found Navys or another vehicle , just turn up and maybe there will be enough of you to make a few more teams. I would considder allowing single car teams except for the safety factor , driving around the park alone , there is safety in numbers.

cheers

It was an awesome weekend , those who attended had a ball , we will definately be running this again next year or maybe even before Christmas.

The Event was won By Steve C. and the Bega Rd Wreckers Team. Seems Steve and his crew have a well sorted vehicle and luck on their side since they also recently took out the Logan Challenge. (in 2wd mind you I might add.)

Looking forward to the Logan Nite run on this Sat Nite. (See thread elsewhere.)
