Re: ARB airlockers for GQ patrol
if my memory serves me correctly rd78a is a front lockerFatmatt wrote:so i bought these off a mate, both brand new still in boxes, should they both be the same code???
ones RD28 and the other is RD78a
and rd 28 is rear i think or the other way?
They should almost be the same yes
the Front Diff in a GQ is a H233B and the rear is also a H233B, only difference is the Front is a 31 spline diff and the rear is a 33 spline diff.
The centers are almost identical from front to Rear GQ diffs, just a little bigger in the rear for the LSD.

Confusing, eh No mention of RD28. Probably in an earlier (or later) catalogue. Did they change the locker or just the codes in the last couple of years? Ask a good ARB dealer about the RD28.There's an RD128 for a Discovery/defender 1993 onwards

Why
theres no clutch packs in the arb's, 80w90 will be fine. they are treated as an open diff.
