How's the Articulator going? Have you got a production model yet? My cuz definitely wants one and is prepared to wait for a in-cab controlled model. Any progress?

Hey Nam, we think we have the base unit pretty much right now.
We haven't progressed much with the air actuated pin but we have a new model for my car which is designed to have the ram mounted. Stay tuned for that one.
We certainly have the base unit if your cousin is interested.
The problem we have is with logistics, Big Baz my partner in crime is getting a lathe soon and this will make supplying all the different swaybar diameters so much easier. We just get 10 blanks made up by our CNC machinist then Baz can bore out the correct swaybar diameter and then it is sent out for nitriding.
He should see this post and will probly reply as well.
It is a very worthwhile mod whatever disconnect you use, I ditched my rear swaybar long ago and offroad with the front disconnected it's sooo smooth I still can't believe it not to mention the handy extra wheel travel (2-3") :D

How much for the base unit and when could you supply one for the front of an NJ by? I guess it could be converted to air actuated further down the track?

We sell the base units for $250 (includes postage anywhere in Oz).
I'll see what Baz has got but I'm sure your cousins will be a 28mm diameter ?
Also to run the air operated ram you will need a compressor.
I'll let you know.

BJ this will explain it better. Rob did this site for us but it still needs some work.

It started as Paj specific but we found it will fit a variety of vehicles most notably Jeep Wranglers, Disco's, Cruisers, Jackeroos or any swaybar that has a straight section between each mount. It is an alternative to the end link disco's if you are not worried about cutting your swaybar to insert the unit in.
We want to develop a in cab controller with an air operated ram also but this will take some work. Eventually the base design will have the ability to bolt on the in cab kit at a later date if so desired. But Baz really needs a lathe to make it worthwhile.

This was the original design (nickel finish) with a pnuematic ram.

Yes it will work on any swaybar (IFS, live axle) that has a straight section between the two mounts (pivoting type swaybar) and there is access to get to the locking pin.

btw, they'll fit a vitara, checked it out this morning and its got a nice big straight bit of sway bar right in the centre :)

On a related note, the new Porsche Cayenne (4WD) has cockpit-controlled disconnects for both front and rear swaybars.

With 0-100 in 5.6 for a 2-tonne vehicle you'd want pretty big swaybars on it! The Cayenne also has a 1:45 (!!!!!) low range reduction and a rear locker option.

I reckon we'll see them up Rocky Track, dressed up with 35"" muddies and snorkels in no time.
