Hey alll

You might remember my stuttering/missing GV, turns out its a fault with the airflow meter.

The mechanic wants $1000 to do it... :shock:

Does anyone know what it should cost?
Does this sound like a reasonable price??

Unknown reason, nah no pod filter.

Ive heard that oily residue and crud can build up on the element, I might try giving it a clean with some solvent first.

If someone has one they want to offload I would definitely be keen though.

Ive just been reading up on cleaning these things too, apparently it can help.

Anyone had joy with that method?

I went though the same exercise a month back with my 2L V6 Vitara, the trottle body,air flow sensor and fuel flow sensor are all combined in one very expensive part. I ended up buying a second hand part for approx a third of the new price.

Cleaning may help - however crud fuses onto the heated film and can't be removed by cleaning.

The heated films are VERY VERY fragile so don't prod /scratch at it.

There are specifically made products available ( use search to locate ) but as stated there are limits.
( usual disclaimers )

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.
