converting my hilux manual to auto

hi guys i have a 91 dual cab hilux with a VR commodore 3.8 in it, im still running the standard hilux 5 speed. i was wondering what i would need to convert it to an auto or if anyone that has done the conversion has any advice for me.

any help would be appreciated.

need a commodore auto and a atapter to go between the auto and transfer and i think you have to get the output shaft on the box modified
not to sure if you have to relocate the engine or transfer mounts though might depend on who you buy the adapter from

true, yeh that makes sense, do you know of anyone in the brisbane area that sell the transfer adaptors? and if there is any extra wiring/ programming to be done?

superior engineering at brendale should be able to get you one i think the vr auto was computer controlled but a vp was not and i think they will fit that way there is less wiring to do. might be a little for the speed sensor not to sure

VR manual and Auto cranks are the same. It was only Series 1 Vns that had different Cranks for Auto and manual.

Use the T700 box as it has less electrics.

just need to fit the kickdown cable plate inplace of the standard accelerator cable setup to use a t700 over the 4L60 or whatever its designation is
