thegrantmob wrote:Have 24V MQ, with a 12v winch. 24v winch motors are hard to come by. I know there is a speed advantage running 24v through 12V winch motors but isnt that counted by reliability issues and the fact I will be competing against younger turboed Coil sprung vehicles. Seeing as people can not mod their vehicles to 24v, and only old patrols are 24v, would you consider droping the requirement for 24v motors.
24volt motors there has been a few on ebay new ones and old ones cheaper than buying 12volt motorsthegrantmob wrote:Have 24V MQ, with a 12v winch. 24v winch motors are hard to come by. Give me a call and i'll give you some suggestion's.ausoops wrote:i have a swb safari 24v (with 24v winch) that would be eligable to compete, ive been wanting to start competing but haven't had the opportunity to enter an entry level event like this. i think it is just the thing i could do comfortably.
the only thing i dont have is a cage and harness.
where do i start looking for shops that can supply and install a cage and harness that will be qld dot approved? (and window nets)
also given its a shorty do i still need a cargo barrier behind the driver/passenger front seats?

i reckon thats fine i am welding mine.......................stock 4runner wrote:spool locker = solid locked diff centre replaces your original centre and can not be released at all they have the same affect as a welded diff but are a machined part most commenly used in drag racing. mini spool= replaces the spider gears with a solid machined and splined block and locks the diff solid once again neither can be releised once fitted

Now that you have explained what they are the answer is:-
NO - not legal on road
Welded/CIG diffs:-
Refer to above answer, and it is still NO (sorry Festa)
Cheers and have a nice weekend anyway.
