the engineer you spoke to at the start of the project?
most (all?) engineers will be quite reluctant to be involved with a project like that unless they are involved before the first cut has been made. Engineering is just that - the process of engineering your conversion so it is safe and complies with all necessary legislation. the RTA has a list.

Free air locker to the first 20 callers!
surely you met him in person, spoke to him on the phone not just by email. He must have seen the vehicle, you surely must have spoken to him throughout the buildup.scottmcguinness172 wrote:the bloke that i had doing it at the start i cant get ahold of him i have email him and no answer
Or did you just email a bloke and say this what I want to do and he said yeah should be ok and you just went and built it?

the guy a spoke to about mine told me to write down a detailed list of what was going on with exact specs where applicable. now i have to take as many pics as possible of every stage of the chop. quite simple for me to do atm and he gave me some pointers on things to do.
the main thing he told me to concentrate on was that the upper half of the cab minimum (preferably all the chop) had a 12mm lip on the sheet join, so there was no butt joints in the steel. even recommended using exhaust pipe for the nice round edge at the top and the 12mm overlap.
good luck, aslong as you have lots of photo evidence and you did everything the right way you should be fine

turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown
Idon't think you are going to find an engineer that will look at a vehicle for the first time, go over it and pass it the next 4 days. Do you?scottmcguinness172 wrote:nothing that i know of i just want it to pass so i can get it regested this week so i can compete in it this weekend

anyone who has engineered a truck will know it won't happen in a couple of days. between inspections could be 2 or more weeks. don't rush it.

it works very diferently in qld than in vic. but ive also found most of the engineers here seem to either do what yours did or mess you around for ages.
