2008 Nissan Trials Announcement
Moderator: evanstaniland
The Locked in 4wd club WAS notified. Thanks Wendy.
people have to realise that sometimes SHIT happens.
when you have to ring that many people, sometimes peoples phones are engaged, turned off or out of area whatever.
It really is a shame when you have 1 or 2 hiccups in 18 years, to be attacked in a public forum (as someone mentioned).
When you have to put up with all this whingeing why on earth would you be a VOLUNTEER.

Paige, i reckon I could come round to your place mow your lawns,
take out the trash,
clean the gutters,
wash your car and put a six pack in the fridge
and you still wouldn't be happy !
To all at the Nissan Club, I thank you as a possible future entrant that you have spent the time and effort to get all this fixed up so Nissan Trials can continue.
Other people would have just said to hard if they were in your boat.
Well done on a great compeition to date, Lets hope theres many more years to come.

I think maybe you come back when your professionally run event is deadset 100% perfect and Never has the slightess hicup and comment then. As said above it is a club competion run by volunteers that put unbeliveable amounts of there own time to give everyone a great comp and if one club hasn't been contacted with what 5 days i think everyone has done a pretty good job considering the event isn't on for nearly 2 months.Podge wrote:You might want to revisit this statement. Being the Competition Coordinator for the Suzuki Club, I've had no phone call nor has my team manager for the Club's 08 Nissan Trials team (she only heard by hear say last night from a work colleague about the event cancellation). It's pretty poor having to find out information via forums when clubs should be advised directly. The Suzuki Club has always supported the Nissan Trials for the last eighteen years, so from our perspective we're very disappointed with the way this matter has been handledMiss Wendy wrote:I have personally rang each team manager to pass on the news to the competitors and navigators and express our regrets.
I hope this will satisfy any questions and rumours going around.

Read what's written and understand the point.
People DON'T have to realise that shit happens because shit DOESN'T have to happen, it's simply a matter of communication and it's not hard to acheive, even for volunteers. READ the statement sunshine, "all team managers were called and advised the event isn't on"-it didn't happen.
What you need to realise is that some people aren't on the internet and don't get to read these notices and may not get the message. As I mentioned our team manager only learnt third hand, do you think that's good enough?? I guess you do because shit happens.
Brendan, at what time did my comments attack the actual event?? Understand the point.

Sunshine, I'm not sure why you perceive the event I'm involved comes into play here (could you please explain) but comments that you've made it seems like you're an expert in our event.turbo gu wrote:I think maybe you come back when your professionally run event is deadset 100% perfect and Never has the slightess hicup and comment then. Read the statement "all team managers have been contacted", not something like "we're in the process of advising all clubs of the situation over the next 5 days". I wouldn't have an argument would I.
PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THE FK'N POINT, LEAVE YOUR AGENDAS ASIDE AND MOVE ON.

Nick, absolutely correct. I would want a case (not a six pack) in the fridge way before you started on the rest.CWBYUP wrote:Paige, i reckon I could come round to your place mow your lawns,

The reason i mentioned your event as you for one should know the pain involved in these sort of things especially when its a volunteer based event not a company running it.Podge wrote:Sunshine, I'm not sure why you perceive the event I'm involved comes into play here (could you please explain) but comments that you've made it seems like you're an expert in our event.turbo gu wrote:I think maybe you come back when your professionally run event is deadset 100% perfect and Never has the slightess hicup and comment then. As for the statement you quote how about a quick pm to wendy or a post asking for a bit more info as apposed to some angry little man comment that dosn't really help anyone. Maybe it was human error and she missed a number on her list.

Yeh, I do understand many a thing with running an event-communication is one of them. I have an allowance for human errors (in my job I deal with it all day, everyday) but struggle on false statements. It's very good of you provide suggestions after the fact.turbo gu wrote:The reason i mentioned your event as you for one should know the pain involved in these sort of things especially when its a volunteer based event not a company running it.Podge wrote:Sunshine, I'm not sure why you perceive the event I'm involved comes into play here (could you please explain) but comments that you've made it seems like you're an expert in our event.turbo gu wrote:I think maybe you come back when your professionally run event is deadset 100% perfect and Never has the slightess hicup and comment then. Would you like us to write a procedures book on cancelling an event so the Zuk club is notified by email, snail mail and many phone calls with in 24 hours of cancelling the event so you are looked after and maybe a cuddle so you still feel special.Podge wrote:Yeh, I do understand many a thing with running an event-communication is one of them. What is annoying is when a small error is made into the club not looking after another club etc when as suggested a quick email or pm could be fine but you want to be all high and mighty about it. Personally i think the are far more important things in life than the wording of wendys post but if your that petty oh well.
I used your event as as it is your event so i thought you would understand things better than most but sorry credited you more than i should of.
Do you feel your event is perfect?

Your mincing statements, finding alternative matters etc. because I've challenged a publicly made statement and you or several others just can't cope with that.
Just realise that not everybody has the internet or reads OL. There could well be people/teams that still do not know that the event is not on-that is possible. So there's a very good chance that many other clubs didn't get a call either. You may not like my wording or how I've gone about things but if prompts the Nissan Club into ensuring that all clubs advised of the event not happening on the said date, then I've completed my objective.

I can cope with you challenging a statement. Far worse things happen in life than that. I just find it so petty to carry on like you have about it!Podge wrote:No event has or will be perfect.turbo gu wrote:Would you like us to write a procedures book on cancelling an event so the Zuk club is notified by email, snail mail and many phone calls with in 24 hours of cancelling the event so you are looked after and maybe a cuddle so you still feel special.Podge wrote:Yeh, I do understand many a thing with running an event-communication is one of them. It was a competitor that was struck by the tree and the tree was inside the track the driver tried to go past it but his bar hit it and he tried to push past it when it fell over hitting the competitor that was standing out side the bunting.

The may have been competing there that weekend but unless he was competing on that stage he is classified as a spectator.

Re: Nissan Trials
i saw it happen as i was waiting in line to go on course 1 , when the lux hit a dead tree trying to get around it knocking it down , onto the fella standing next to his patrol , i'm not sure if he was a part of the recovery team (as he had his car there right at the edge of the track were there were no spectators as such allowed , if he was taking photos he obviously wasn't taking them of the lux . when the tree came down and hit the patrol i said to my missus " hell someones gunna be p1ssed about that tree hitting there car" when she pointed out the man lying on the ground in a very uncomfortable pose, poor buggar did well considering the hit he took .CWBYUP wrote:From my understanding he was actually a spectator.MUD80D wrote:It was a competitor that was struck by the tree and the tree was inside the track the driver tried to go past it but his bar hit it and he tried to push past it when it fell over hitting the competitor that was standing out side the bunting.the gun wrote: A spectator was stuck by a tree that a competitor had run into.(out of the course)
