3.0 to 4.2 in GU

Post by monstapatrol »

As the subject says im looking into swapping my 3.0 for the ever reliable 4.2. At this stage just researching to see if it is viable as opposed to selling my rig and buying another GU already with the 4.2 and putting all my goodies into it. Any constructive advise greatly appreciated.

I think someone else asked this yesterday too.

IMWO, take the chance to buy a later model than yours, and swap bit.

other than that, ~$6k gets you a crate TD42 from Nissan.. then you need the rest alternator, etc etc

ever reliable?

its still in a GU at the end of the day so you know there's corners cut somewhere. no offense to the GU guys. poo electrics, poo interior quality, poo body finishing....theyre not called pootrolls for no reason. :P

No seriously, better off making your troll standard, selling it and getting one with the 4.2 standard. Otherwise too much farking around. Should be a few people looking to ditch their thirsty 4.2's at the moment?

(and im not being a GQ fanboy. theyre just as bad. but my perception of quality is twisted...too much time around toyotas & VW's mercs etc :P)
