FJ60 Gearbox - Will HJ 60 / HJ 75 Fit ??

Post by Petrol60 »

Hi Guys, long time lurker first timne poster.

I have a 1983 FJ 60 with a 2F engine on gas. The 5 Speed has just shit itself and I need to get it back on the road ASAP.

A guy up the road has one forsale from a HJ60 / 75 that he says will fit if I swap my bell housing onto it.

Can anyone confirm this is the case ? Or will I have to dick around with input shafts and clutches ?

Any help would be great.

it's true. it.ll work no drama's.4 bolts to undo it from the bellhousing, drop it, put the new one in (remove your shifters, reverse light wiring and speedo cable too)

As bad relgion says it will fit ,very straight forward but you MAY have to swap the tailshaft flanges on the transfer case depending on which bolt pattern tailshafts you have, but if so its just as easy as the rest of the job.
