LADIES ONLY WINCH COMP 2009 - EXPRESSION OF INTEREST -VIC

Post by MrsSmith »

We are looking at running a compeptitve 4WD winch comp specifically for the LADIES of the sport and are wanting expressions of interest.

The dates will be somewhere between the Pajero Challenge and Rnd 1 of the Engel Series so either the weekend of 7-9 March or 14-15 March 2009.
Looking also to holding a special bootcamp specifically for the gals as well.

Open to good suggestions

Location wise - not sure yet. Would look at one of the Engel series properties - so not too far from Melbourne.

Put in for your permits now, and get around the "not knowing if it's happening 4 weeks before the event" issue.

I can't vouch for her, but I am pretty sure Humpy from TMR would be willing to give this a go.

I think this is a great idea. I think a bit of advise from other females will actualy put the ladys of the sport at ease. I must admit i am still learning myself and try and pass on knowledge but us men at times are not the best teachers. Sometimes a woman can explain things to another woman better.

By the way... Thanks Alison, be great to see you out there again too!! X
All girl team comps have been put out there and talked about for a while, great to see someone doing something about it, good on you Mel!

Noojee, is a fantastic property, I have always wanted to go back there to compete again. Also such a great place for the spectators as well. That would be my suggestion on a property.

Mel Smith and myself think it should be called "Chick Winch '09"

I think this will be the perfect stepping stone for the girls that want to get into the sport or just for a bit of fun.
I hope there are more ladies out there that want to participate in this event... IT WILL BE FUN!!!!!

Date and Property confirmed

Post by MrsSmith »

Hi Ladies - we are looking at the 7-8 March 09 at Bindaree - Al Mac's property. Stages will be run from Saturday afternoon, early evening and Sunday.
I want to get run Stiletto Shoe Camp and I can get a reduced cost but I do need it in groups of 5 people. What are the thoughts of the Australia Day long weekend, bring the boys, family etc and make it social. It will give us an opportunity to run the tracks in prep for the comp. I was hoping the boys could help with the track set up - turning it into a working bee and cooling off in the river - if there is any water in it.
I think so far we have about 6 teams - would love to get 20 and realy place our stiletto heel print on the sport!
