How long to i have? uni joint Q

Post by pongo »

Rear tail shaft has just started vibrating and the front uni has about .5-1mm play on one side of the cross, Isnt hot after the 35km drive home.

I have a spare shaft here but would rather hold out to the weekend and put a new set of unis in.

So ya reckon it;ll last 3 days at 70km a day 1/2 of it motorway running ?

It will last until your furtherest away from your tools/parts, and when your running late for something really important.

i swapped the tail shaft with a spare one i had lying round. that one seemed fine too but was worse than the old one.

Managed to take a truck home every night since so have been lucky, defiantly replacing them tommorow.

I tried looking for the gearbox thread too but couldnt find it.

Truck i have out the front tonight has a tick tick noise in the gear box, sounds like a time bomb.
