hi all.
tried the search option but didn't find an answer so i'm gonna bug you guys instead.
just got a top mount IC, hood scoop and rubber boot off a 4JG2 bighorn for my 02 Rodeo. looks good, should bolt up no worries. my problem is this. to fit the IC i need to rotate to turbo compressor housing one bolt hole to the left ( bout 60 degrees ) which itself is easy enough to do, but this in turn moves the wastegate actuator with it, and the mounting lugs for the actuator end up in the wrong spot. Guzzi mentioned he was planning this same IC mod but i never found any updates. any advice you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

And I still haven't gotten off my arse to do it.......
With your problem, I just had a quick look at my turbo and the actuator is mounted on a bracket that is mounted by the bolts you'll have to undo to rotate the housing. I would suggest you back off the bolts that hold the 2 houseings together and remove the ones that hold the bracket to the housing you want to rotate. Rotate the housing one bolt hole to the left and replace the bolts that were removed and tighten up the others. The turbo outlet should now point where you want it and the wastegate actuator and rod should still be where they are as standard.
Is that clear?
This will work on the turbo fitted to my 1995 model, I have seen a few different turbos fitted to rodeos and bighorns so Im not sure if it will work on yours.
Did you score all the brackets, supports and bonnet hardware, scoop etc, if so where from?

hey guzzi,
thanks for the info mate. sounds like your turbo is slightly different to mine, i've looked at about ten RHF5 turbos and they've all been different. my wastegate actuator is mounted on two small lugs cast on the compressor housing which are separate to the six housing bolts you're talking about. looks like i'll need to do some more head scratching!
i got the cooler and brackets, bonnet scoop and rubber boot from Isuzu Parts Specialists in NZ for $280 inc freight which i thought was pretty good buying, all the parts are in really good condition. Only thing i didn't get were the two 'L' shaped brackets that bolt to the cyl head (one near AC comp, other at back of head) to support the inlet side of the cooler. I got them today off a 4jg2 at Qld Motor Recyclers for $25.
All i gotta do now is figure out this wastegate actuator issue and it's time to wind the boost and fuel up! yee haa! thanks again for your help, will let you know how i go.

Mate , have a go at making your own mounting bracket for the actuator.
Mount the bracket off the housing lock bolts as mine is at one end and design the other end to keep the actuator where it needs to be.
They probably changed things around to save 10 cents a unit.
Give a yell if you need pics of the standard setup on mine and Ill see if I can post some in between servicing my bike and mowing the lawn etc.
Cheers
