have i got enough reduction
gday everyone ive got a question regarding a lwb zook im building.Basically id like to know if a standard turbo 700 auto and remote nissan mq transfer would give enough gear reduction to drive 35s with 4.6 ratio diffs. The vehicle is only for offroad use and will be trailered but will it be ok for driving rocky and difficult tracks
would greatly depend on what engine you plan on running , but if your mainly after rocks etc than i'd say if you run a v6 it'll still be geared to high , depends also on your driving style , i run 35's on my 4.5ltr patrol with 4.3's and auto with %84 transfer reduction gears and thats good , but standard transfer gears crap as , in my zook i run the 1.3ltr with 6.5 transfer gears and 4.88 r/p on 35's and it's just right it'll crawl no dramas and second and third gear is still usable for the hills .
what ratio is the mq transfer case ?
some of my mates had the mq with 4.6's 35's (diesel engine) and they went alright but if its mainly rocks a little lower would be better imo
cheers Jai
