I bought a vitara! now: help w locking hubs + clutch..

Post by drifta »

hey guys,

i just bought a vitara but want to adjust a few things

1) one of the locking hubs wont budge, how do i take it apart and fix this?

2) the clutch pedal is a bit loose and i think the clutch needs adjusting a bit because it catches when going into reverse as if its not properly dis-engadged, so it sort of 'crunches' into gear.. so i want to adjust this

how do i adjust these things? is there a manual for it somewhere? anyone in perth wanna help me with it?

cheers

Paul

Give the hubs a good spray with WD40 or CRC

Check the oil level in the gearbox.

push the clutch pedal with 1 finger , if it goes more than 20-25mm down before you feel resistance , you have too much freeplay . if this is the case you will have to take freeplay out by tightening the nut at the end of the cable.

If freplay in pedal is fine , you either have a prob with the clutch or a cable that is on its way out.
