2"+2"+37" on gq wagon???
2"+2"+37" on gq wagon???
My question is how hard is it to fit 37" tyres on a gq wagon with a 2 inch spring 2 inch body?.
I have cut the front guards already but the rear is my main concern. I dont want to block any upward travel.
How many have done it?
I have done the usual on the rear already (cut rear quarters and rear of guard. Looking at it it looks like i can trim the plastic moulding on the front but not by much?
Need to pick the peoples brain that have it or have done it.
Cheers

i have 35's on a 2 inch lift no body lift still need to do rar chop and trim front guards to make them sweet when flexing but i would have to say 37's not much chance even with the body lift i think i may need one just to make it all good on 35's 4"+2" would be way to go for 37's
imho cheers tim

This i want to see.
Even with a 4" spring lift i had to do a 2" body lift to accomodate 35" simexes comfortably under full flex without sway bars. I often read about vehicle's running 35's with only a 2" lift or 2"+2" and i think yeah maybe for the local shopping centre carpark, but that's it.
As for 37's in the bush with 2"+2", if it was advertised in the trading post Daryl Kerrigan would "tell 'em their dreaming"
Gunna need a LOT of chopping.

Hope your wearing your flame suit GQ Bear. I made a comment almost exactly like yours last week and got done for it.
I have 4"+2", and scrub with 33's, 35" would scrub worse, and 37"s would be terrible i would think, but as i dont have 37"s, my comment is not valid.

trim your rear wheel arches back untill the lip touches the fuel filler and extend your bumpstops............. yes you have to even a gq on 33's will hit the top of the rear wheel arch if it has decent travel.
space the front diff forward a lil bit and it will fit.

the one place they do rub is the hte front of the rear wheel arch so moving the diff foward would not work for me if any thing moving it back 16 mm would be better once rear qtr's are gonebadger wrote:trim your rear wheel arches back untill the lip touches the fuel filler and extend your bumpstops............. yes you have to even a gq on 33's will hit the top of the rear wheel arch if it has decent travel.

ive got 37 too and they dont scrub with 2"+ 2". but i had to extend the bump stops 1.5" and you will need to have custom wheels or wheel spacers as the top of the tyre will touch the inside of the wheel well at the back, regardless of what size rubber. as for the front i think my tyres rub on the radius arm on full lock but does not rub anywhere else.
if you know someone who can weld you need to weld the rear panels back to gether and put the lip back on.

Well just finished cutting my guards and yes it appears that it can be done without to many dramas. I just got to screw my flares back on and cut the back of the wings on my bull bar. Drove it up a ramp both sides and seems to be good. got about 20mm all round.
Will see what happens when i go for a play
Cheers

when mine was wagon i had 5" springs and 35" claws. mine flexed heaps on the rear and had no bump stops.
to get the rear to clear i had to cut heaps out of the rear gaurds, to the point were i didn think that it would be possible to physically fit a bigger tyre in there, front had no issues.
u probly can fit bigger then 35" but i gues it depnds how flexy your rear end is or bump stop lenghts.

im runnin 36's on 2" arb lift, trim front gaurds space radius arms so it doesn't look so crap, rear quarter chop, i cut about 1" all the way around guards front and rear and refolded egde and looks fine. flares will cover it up if you do a bodgy job on the folding. didn't move my bump stops but when i put hydraulics in i lifted if anything

37's
2.5 body
2 in the springs
Lots of offset on the rims, about 2-3 inchs per side
front wheels hits the guard (chopped out) when you pull a random U turn on a rezzy street and hit the curb. Rear rubs under full flex and pulls off the tigher men garden edging.
So it can be done, but the wheels are gonna rub. if your concerned, limit the amount of up travel and they wont rub.
