hj60 tacho dropping out

Post by juzzydykes75 »

Hi , have had a multitude of wiring probs with my hj60 since i bought it which most seemed to trace back to a dodgy car alarm install in some point in time . black box from alarm is still under dash and if i open a door the bloody thing clicks at me but the horn doesnt go off . anyway . I found that the Tacho keeps dropping out . sometimes it's fine other times i have to bash the dash to get it working or even hit the aftermarket glow plug actuator switch and it jumps back to life .
I thought loose earth in the dash and have pulled it out and checked every wire and earth connection even ran a couple of new ones and still the same problem ???

i'm sure i read here that the switch is on the passenger side of the bell housing, up front near the flywheel and they can get dirtied up or knocked loose. try checking that first.
