driveline dramas on 75

Post by dickie75 »

my 75 series ute has developed a strange quite loud tinging sound (metal on metal)when accelerating.

the sound dissapears as soon as i decelerate, punch the clutch or when the wheels are no longer under much load. i have checked exhaust for tension, all parts of the tray are solid and there seems to be nothing rubbing or hitting anything else.
could it be something in the driveline?
(yes i have cheked for zip ties on the tailshaft!!!)

any help would be nuch appreciated as it is giving me the shit's.

sounds like a uni but you would of checked that or the other thing is jack it up and safely block it up and run it so you can get up close and see if that narrows it down :?
cheers mick :)
