This close to competition, you are best to clarify specifications with Peter Kitchen at Redlands 4x4 centre. He scrutineers vehicles. Being in Challenge class, if you have not competed before in Tough Tracks, you may be best going down and getting it checked out prior to the event.

The rules are not designed to kick people out.

This comes up every round. The way I was lead to believe that all the cars had to have each modification BLUE PLATTED. NOt DOT approved.

Is this right guys?? (Ithink I am.) :?

I don't think so........ It's just an Engineer approved mod. DOT always have the final say in QLD.

dot make there own rules a blue plate is ment to mean it is dot approved
but they work on two rules .
1 dot is always right.
2 if dot is wrong refer to rule 1.
what they will say is that your car has been modified again since you got your blue plate so they can give you a fine for not being approved.
one almost gave me a fine once for a spring over in my lux.

"Just to let you know if competing in this week end Round at The Springs that there is a rule change . It is That the driver isn't allowed to exit the vehicle unless it isn't safe to be in it. I wish all competing the best of luck and hope to see you there and GOOD LUCK ."

Well, Angela and I are ready to cover the next round of tough tracks... we are packed.... have been since yesterday as we are currently in Toowoomba taking flower photos at the festival of flowers.. and will soon be leaving for Warwick... with a leaking radiator..

So bring on Round 3, we look forward to capturing some action... we will also have a range of photos with us from last round on display and let everyone have a look at so if your interested in having a look, please come and see us.

Just look for the silver pajero or see us on the track.

Bloody challenging one this weekend. Had not many people finish the first two tracks and a few on there roofs. The third track had two options at the end and put a few trucks on there side trying the 1000 point finish.

Broke two front centres on saturday which put me out for sunday.
Time to rebuild things for next year.

Cheers Guys.

Great weekend.

Awesome tracks this weekend just the way they should be. Thanks to the club for putting it on again and all the people who helped out, and well done to Ben and Kent for first over all for challenge class.
cheers Dan

Well just got in from our 5 hour trip home back to the Sunny Coast (we detoured to take more photos!), grubby, exhausted and feeling great! :D We had such a great weekend!

Thanks for a really good weekend everyone, we got some (can +1,500 photos be classed as some???) fantastic shots over the 3 tracks for trophy class. We plan to have them up on our site within a week.

Congratulations to all who competed, organised and came along, we have the best job ever :)

Had a great day on Saturday watching some of the action and having a bit of a drive around Springs for the first time.
Got to see quite a bit of carnage! A number of rolls during the day and a number of drive shafts went in quick succession in the afternoon run.
Will be back to camp at the Springs one day soon and see a bit more of the park. I did get a few pics, not too many though but I will post them up if anyone is interested.
My 4 year old son is still grinning from ear to ear after seeing all of the "big trucks".
Cheers!
