Hey all just wondering what your opinions on Auto Lockers such as lock-rite and detroit ezy's.

ON ROAD?

OFF ROAD?

IN WET?

And so on

Any info on past experiences would be great! :D

I know this is a regular topic and there is never any definite conclusions, but I will say that a lot of people have oppinions on things that they have never used.
I have an air locker in the rear and an automatic locker(4wdsystems) in the front of my cruiser. A mate with a hilux had and auto in the rear of his truck.

His was fine in the rear but he has now converted it so he has an airlocker in rear and auto in front. In my oppinion this is a better way to go and it is what the company recomends anyway. I love mine in the front and while it may not suit something like a winch challenge style truck it suits my needs perfectly. I like not having to worry about it and I know it is always on and working. I can still steer with it on and I only have to deal with one switch for the rear.
Install them properly and you will have no dramas. Spoke to a guy the other day with one in the front of a heavily moded nissan and it has been in there for many years with no dramas.

Spend the Extra cash and get air lockers there in when you want them to be in and there out when you want them to be out.And you also get an air compressor

Used to have a lockrite in the rear of my 4runner until it broke the cross shaft and eventually broke the shear pin housings, not the shear pins. It was in there for @ 3yrs on a d/d, now with ARB f/r theres a big difference especially on road where you'll notice it much more. No more squirming around rear end when you get on or off the gas and roundabouts are much easier. For the price of a lockrite compared to an airlocker its only a couple of hundred more.

Yeah as I said earlier I would not put one in the rear. PITA!
Front works well though. Only there when you 4wd and can still steer quite well doing the slow stuff. Take it out of 4wd for fast hard packed trails.
Haven't tried it in mud (cause I hate mud!)
