Post by slyvan1 »

my suzuki is overheating at speed over 80km/h. my intercooler is in front of radiator.

i have gemini radiator been flushed, new water pump, magna thermo, standard fan doesn't fit.

doesn't get hot in bush, just on road.

bonnet above turbo is to hot to touch when i pull over. inlet side is cold.

Do you have much cowlig directing air to the Radiator....? I found with my Sierra was 1L engine put the 1.3 in still had the smaller radiator could wheel all day long with the thermo fans barely coming on or cruise around local would never go above half. Once I hit the highway would go up to 3/4 and then over heat, this was with thermo either on or off didnt make any difference. I have up graded to a 1.3 radiator still same issue but since i cant run the normal engine driven fan and run a thermo Im putting it down to the normal cowling shrouds missing from around the radiator. Im in the process of making stuff for it now.

Either that and look at putting in an oil cooler, and look at the type of oil your using.

What model magna fan?

I've got a magna thermo on my 660 - it's the steel shrouded 12" multi-blade fan from a late 80's magna and it doesn't throw enough air either.

i notice at the weekend my oil pressure would drop at high revs then my temp would go straight up. i run penrite hpr30. my turbo oil feed is of a t-piece on the oil pressure switch feed.
my oil pressure gauge is a cheap electric one but it was dropping to about 10psi. i will put a master gauge on it to confirm this.
