Temperature connection 2h

Post by HH »

Hi guys
I just replaced a second hand head in my 2h 60 series 1983 model. the new head had only 1 spade connection in the thermostat housing.
my old head had an electrical connection in the head as well as the thermostat connection ( near no 1 cylinder ). What do these connections do.I assume one is for temp.

I pretty sure it may be for the superglow glow plug set up it sends a temp signal that goes to the control unit under passenger side kick panel.

To clarify the one in the thermostat housing is for water temp that goes to the dial in your dash. And the one sticking in the head near the no. 1 cylinder is for glow plugs.

Could just rig up a simple switch relay set-up to get rid of the whole superglow system...they're a headache.
At first I thought it was a sea anemone, upon closer inspection I realised it was a funky ball of tits from outer space.
