Allied Wheels
G'day all. I just bought a tojo 100 converterd to a dual cab. The vehical came fitted with a set of Allied Wasp's and some cheap peice of crap tyres. However it wasn't until I went to fit my new set of 315/76 16 MTZ's (cheers Ryano) that I found out the wheel are usless!!!. You can't get the beads to fit over the wheel lip there just so freaking tight. A little investergation found that some time ago Allied had a dodgie batch of wheel so they we sold them as trailer rims with no warranty, as you could only fit cheap and nasty tyres onto the wheel.
Some how a full set of these 16 x 8 rims made there way onto the my new touring rig prior to me purchasing it, and now has cost me 1000 bucks to buy a whole new set of wheels (once again cheers Ryano).
I in am now way bagging Allied, In fact the new wheels I orderd are once again Allied Wasp's. The purpose is of this topic is to inform people that whilst Allied have fixed the problem (along time ago), that there may be a few of these wheels floating about and I would hate for some one to go through the head ache that I went through today.
I will post some pic's of the difference in the wheels as soon as the new wheels arrive.
Cheers,
Busty

I feal your pain, But i got the tyres on. The bloke at the tyre shop said he can not get the tyres on, but once the machine stops or the rim starts slipping, i just gave the tyre 2 hits with the rubber hammer and they went on no worries. The problem is the well that the bead sits in and the raised bit of alloy on the edge. when you put the tyres on make sure you start where the tyre is sitting on the black bit not the polished alloy bit (that 5 mm makes all the differance)

if ya gona rev it, Chev it
Cheers, but we tried every thing short of tearing the bead on my new tyres. Nice rig though.98lux wrote:I feal your pain, But i got the tyres on.
