LPG grant

Post by trucks »

Hello All,
I don't know if anyone can help me, but here goes. I have been rebuilding my MQ shorty for about 18 months and have done everything towards running V8 on straight gas. After fitting the LPG tank, converter, lock off, 425 gas carby, recurved the distributor for gas only, removed the petrol tank, fuel lines, fuel pumps, ect ect and at this point the original centre mounted petrol tank will no longer fit with the 5 speed box in there, I booked in to have the gas hooked up and the gas fitter told me to check with Aus Industries (the gas rebate authority) about still being able to get the gas rebate if the car was unregistered when the gas was fitted. So after an extended call to Aus Industries including talking to a supervisor, there is no way of getting the rebate if the car is not registered. To get the rebate, the car must be registered in your name and for personal use and then get converted after rego.

This poses/problem and finally the reason for this post, is there anyone in Melbourne that can lend, hire or whatever me an MQ petrol tank for about 2 - 3 weeks, just to get an RWC and rego. I still have the original fuel pumps, lines a Quady ect.

I would really appreciate any help.
They say life was not meant to be easy, so who the hell is they and where can I get my hands on her.
