Removing a Vitara stereo

Post by Impulsive »

Under the top lip of your temperature control panel there are two phillips screws. Remove those and the two inside your cigarette ashtray aperture after you remove the tray.

Then you take off your temperature & fan, etc knobs and grab the whole facia panel and kind of snap it off the dash face. It should come off easily with only a little resistance.

After this, you should see the 4 screws which hold in your stereo. Simply undo them and the whole thing should slide out. If its the original one, you will have to unplug the harness and the antenna socket.
If it isn't original, you may need to unsolder the aftermarket leads, depending on how good or dodgy the installation was.
