power steering in lux
hey just trying to find a assembly drawing of a 84 model power steering pump off of a 2l so i can make sure mines togeather right
lux
was thinking of trying that on monday but was also keen to get out for a play again ive put mine togeather both ways now and just want to get it the right way before i pay to get it tested
is it the same box as the later model hilus steering boxes? im pretty sure they were the same or 98% the same.
if its like this then it might help

Unfortunately it doesnt show re assembly and just says to the same thing in reverse.
the key points i found were that when you re inserting the out put shaft you need to ensure the input shaft teeth are centered and the out put shaft teeth centered (vertical) so that it all works.
the first time i re assembled mine i didnt do this and it didnt work.
really make sure that when you reassemble what is step 10 on that link you tighten it until all thrust play is removed, 1mm of play will equate to 4 inches or more in your steering wheel. again i had to pull mine apart again and re tighten it. i got an extra 1/2 a turn out of it and my play was gone.
if its different then sorry i cant help
