Navara D40 Diesel Fuel Consumption

We bought a D40 Auto Diesel and has done 5000 kms and having really poor fuel consumption. Around 14/100 done several modifications and managed to reduce 9.7/100 Has anyone else had this problem?

if its auto i have heard of similar figures but i get around 13.5 regularly towing 1.5 ton
GQ TD42, 4" lift, 2" bodylift, 4.6 s, detroit lockers, 35,s t3/t4 plus a turbo,

whats year and spec of vechile ?
what sort of driving are you doing? what speeds?

what mods have you done to it ?

It s a 2008 model 40mm lift winch bar BFG rubber it is now fitted with a 3'' exhaust snorkle k&N air fitler and dp chip

auto's will suck a bit more fuel, especially as they have DPF. make sure you use DPF friendly engine oil.
i assume you kept the DPF when you did the exhaust.

what speed do you drive at ? that a critical thing. had someone on another forum complain about high fuel usage, found out he cruised at 160km/h......no wonder he was chewing fuel.

i hope with those mods you have boost and EGT gauges fitted. highly important when modding variable turbo motors. changing the exhaust changes the way the turbo operates which can cause all sorts of fun.
especially as Nissan will not touch it under warranty due to the mods.

also you will need to clean the MAF regularly as the K&N will cause it to foul up. just give it a wash out every 5000k or so. maf plays up, especially with chip, motor can over fuel and blow holes in pistons fairly quickly. EGT gauge is a life saver.

We sit on 100 most times the DPF was replaced by 3'' type exhaust gases droped by 100 deg 3 chips were tried 2 over fuled and pushed up temp dp is only set on 4 setting while running on dyno temps came up cooler exhaust pressures reduced by more than 60 percent kn up 80

did it have any sensors in the exhaust tube?

a lot of the overseas diesels with DPF's have sensors to tell the ecu to regen etc. some get cunning and actually monitor cat/DPF performance. if you remove cat/DPF the ecu can go into limp home mode because it thinks its faulty.
i have not seen what system nissan have in them.

wheres you EGT probe placed?

the DPF is replaced with a 3'' performance type from the USA the sensores have been placed back in place and computer remaped this is the firist this is the first one that i know of been done in austraila it took 5 days and countless time on the dino

now it getting interesting :)

normally i would exspect anything from 8-10l/100k fom the manual but add the auto and DPF it will be worse.
on the other hand its only done 5000km i wouldn't expect best encomony for a while yet.
tho 14 does sound high but driving style can easly cause that.
