Warn xp9500 low mount has faster line speed than a standard high mount and more pullin power high mount is heaps slower unless you put the 6hp motor on them from the xp9500, its all on the warn website, as for duty cycles it all comes down to your batteries, crappy batteries will kill any winch no matter what it is.

Line speed: High mounts have a faster unloaded line speed than most (all?) low mounts. Some low mounts have a faster line speed under max loads that high mounts (refer spec. sheets)
Brakes: High mounts have brake on the side of the gearbox, seperate to the drum. Low mounts have brakes inside the drum, which causes the drum to become hot which can be a problem if running synthetic rope.
Free spool: High mount free spool only disconnects the motor from the gearbox, meaning the rope/wire can be very difficult to pull out by hand. Low mounts disconnect the drum from the gear set, meaning they are very easy to spool out by hand.
Mods: High mounts have various off the shelf mods available - twin motor top hats with altered ratios (fast!), pneumatic drum disconnects (can be switched from the cab and enables easy freespooling by hand), larger motors from low mount winches can be bolted on. Low mounts have less off the shelf mods available, but i understand a mob in QLD are re-gearing these to take advantage of flamin fab's twin motor adapters.
