Low range gear set

Post by jkwpajero »

I am thinking about fitting a set of 2.854:1 low range gears into my NH Pajero. Has anyone done this and if so can you give some feedback about how it went.

Cheers

I have the gears in mine, but I didn't do the work myself. They were pre-fitted to a reconditioned exchange transfer case, and I paid a mechanic to do the exchange.

Personally, I love them, and need to factor replacement gears (and front diff lock) into the cost of any replacement 4wd - because I don't think I'd enjoy offroad driving if I didn't have them.

I have these gears, as well as 5.29 diff gears. No regrets whatsoever. I may have a 4-banger, but I can climb trees.
