Bugger, my 08 1.9DDiS just broke a front CV today.
The traction control was doing its thing on an uphill climb trying
to exit a small mud pit when, click click BANG.
Managed to drive it home with the centre diff locked and not turning
too sharply as I had to sit the shaft back in the cup to keep
it off the suspension arm.
The car is 6months old but have heard a few clicks from the front
when offroad and I was always concerned how long the CV's
would last -
so has anyone else broken one in the newer GV's??
I dont expect many would as only the diesel has the TC to put
pressure on them - although I think all the 09's are getting it
now.

'08 GV busted CV Joint
Thanks mate.
Its all fixed now, took them 2days with ordering the part -
they just replaced the whole shaft with both joints.
(wish they cleaned all the grease off under there though)
Hopefully it was a weak CV from the factory. I want to test
it out this weekend but am a little shy to give it heaps as it
would look bad if broke again and questions might be asked..

I go to Wangara now that Eagle One is no longer Suzuki
I've got slightly larger Coopers and a spring lift (standard length struts).
The TC stops the situation with a free spinning wheel suddenly slamming
down, but it does force some torque to wheels that are heavily loaded.
I'm thinking it might have been defective as the TC never worked as well as I think
it should have (saw a vid of some Cayennes driving over ruts with no
more than 1/2 a wheel turn in the air). The CV often clicked offroad and
spun up alot to get over ruts, I though it may have been brake noise at
the time, but can CV's slip and not be broken??
I hope to test it this w/end but it feels better already onroad.
