hey all
can anyone recommend a good bolt on / off the shelf traction bar set up

found some cracks around my spring prech mounts on diff housing might be time for a traction bar obiously getting axle wrap
ive been looking at a lowrange one any good??
will it affect the flex of my zook?
zook is swb spoa 32'
any help would be great

85 high roof 1.3, 6.5 tc, air lockers,ruf and 34 swampers. yep its an ugly pos.

im getting one made up for mine by SJ Performance.... google them - its the oztraks traction bar. Not bolt on though.

it just appeals incase i total the diff housing

its worth about $600 all painted up and custom made to suit my suspension set-up.. its a lot of $$$!!! but when you see the work and engineering that went into it its worth it...

mmmmm......don't you get free tickets to mardi gras with every jeep.....oh....and a fire extinguisher?

Anymore pics of cross members? Or will a mount on the body mount brace hold up?
I had mine there on my swb when it only ran 30s but with big tyres and gears not sure of its strength.
Also looked at a "bolt in" x member with sandwhich plates to the chassis but couldnt think how to get around the fuel lines on d/s rail.

for this kind of purpose it might even pay to just weld in a new x-member at the right spot to make the bar work best (ie: flatter angle on the bar). most people mount off the same x-member though, its the only one in the vicinity and its strong. I wouldnt trust a body mount to take the load at all.

do you have any drawings of the kind of bar you're hoping to make??? i'd be keen for a peep!

if so or may get away with it without one. bend or align the pipes higher so the boltin method may work in there

Pretty much the same design as hyzooks.
I didnt means off the body mount I meant the chassis x member that they bolt to.
Nah I dont have a b/l its heigh enough now..
