front shock absorbers on a gq

Post by ausoops »

the top washer/bush thing that bolts (with two 13mm nuts) the top pin of the shock absorber to the shock tower. what are they called? i don't know what they are exactly called and couldn't explain over the phone to the guy at pedders.
i need a new one as drivers side has flogged out and is only metal to metal now.

Just call them shock rubbers, for a pin style shock. You may even find the local 4b shop may have a colection of old shock rubbers, that are in good nick. That where I got mine. As the shocks have been good for 200 000km, but the rubbers where only good for 140 000

cheers i went to a different pedders and the guy gave me some out of the bin to get me by. nissan want 19 each for genuine so i might go that route. however i found that my current shockies were very easy to move up and down when i undid the nuts. should this be so? i might have to bite the bullet and buy new shocks and then i may aswell buy new springs at the same time.
