i have an 80 series cruiser and my rear left axel snapped at willowglen and its dropped into the housing. have richmond lockright locker in there. how the hell do i get the axel out. can i pull the centre with the spline still in there????

Have had the same happen in 75 before, just pulled the cap an the axle had welded itself to the housing. Yours doesnt sound that bad. Used a die grinder and a long bit, and burred out as much as i could, then got a stick welder, welded some bar onto it and used a slide hammer method to get it out. Worked a treat
would draining the oil, removing the outer pieace then jacking the opposite side of the axle up help dislodge it? then try and remove the centre... might take a bit of jiggling... wobbly the pinion back and forth to see if you can dislodge it...
even when you spell out commonsense to the RTA they still ignore it!
Im with ice...weld 2 sticks together to get length if needed, and put a descent 3 or 4 second weld onto the end of the shaft b4 having an assistant turn the welder off at the power point....this will give you a means to pill out the broken axle.
