thanx, have done body lifts before so no drama's there. will fit the 35's and see how she goes. have sourced a set of second hand 35 baja claws for a decent price, just waiting for an email to finalise things...wahooo :lol:

Hello again. Sorry for the delay. I'm at work so I thought I should do something that resembles working for a while.
Yes the 4.6 ratios are standard from a 2.8. They are not exact but with such a small marjin of error, I don't care.
I just used alloy packing plates on my standard bump stops. Took one of my bump stops into the local machinist to take the measurements from and a carton of Crownies later, tada! the bump stops have been extended 30mm.
Hard to get photos at work but I'll get them ASAP

This is my rig with 4" springs only, running 35" tyres with no major guard cutting.
Front is fine without mudflaps fitted.
This is rear rub marks, only rub when driven hard off-road. (no damage to tyre's
35x12.5 / 15 tyres on cruiser offset 15x8's

As a play tyre I highly recommend simex ET's (but prob out of your price spec's)
I did run Cooper stt's as my previous tyre and was very happy (still my easy trip tyre's).

I have some Simex ET's, 35x10.5R15 on 15x8 King Rims. King rims are the shit, so are the ET's. I went for a skinnier tyre to save me some headaches and real estate in my wheel arches. The only places i have rubbing issues was on the factory mud flaps, front bumper bar edges, and possibly the back of the rear arches.

I'm prepared to let the tyres do their own guard cutting/bending.

Truck looks great mate. Don't know if anyone has mention but you can run a 10 mm spacer on the front control arms...at the chassis end. Don't know the technical name for it. About $50 pre-made. Pushes the dif just far enough to avoid any rubbing on the rear of the front guards.

I was running 35's without any lift on mine as i got a good deal prematurly on some tyres. I clearly couldn't go 4x4ing but she drove on the road after a touch of trimming & removal of front guards. Once 3inch lift went in I was out 4x4ing & was good. The odd rub but she did good.

I now have 37's on mine with a 4inch lift. Once again I would say that 4x4ing is out of the question but is fine on road for the time being.

One more thing FYI. MTZ's have a squarer/wider tread pattern than the MTR's...which round out on the edges much more . If anyone considers larger tyres on minimal lift then the MTR's will tuck past guards on full lock better & less chassis rub. I've hade both type on my GQ.

Just a bit of info you guys might find interresting. :)

i got bf muds and hate them with a passion the only time they havent let me down was in the dry on rocks..

every time i go in mucd 1 if not 2 of the beads get mud in them.. spent hundreds on bead cleaning..

I am having the same problems with my BFG's, especially the front tyres seem to be getting mud in the beads and loosing about 20psi a week :roll:

Me too on my old ones. They really need tubes or you have to get beads cleaned after every trip in the mud.

I've just fitted a set of 315/75r16 cooper STT's on 16x8 alloys.
The diff gears have been changed to 4.6's so back to relativelt stock gearing.
Th patrol is now a play thing and is rarely driven unless offroad but even when it was a daily driver I only had 33" MT/R's no extra set of 'road' tyres. I reckon swappin 'em over that often will shag ur nuts and studs sooner rather than later.

Last weekend I hit the rocks at Rover park and left them at highway pressure just to test them and was impressed.
They did everything I asked them too with little difficulty.
Next time I'll let 'em down and see how they go.
6" GQ, 37" Treps, that is all.....

I picked up a set of 35x2.5x15 claws on cruiser offset 15x8 sunnies and got them fitted to the GQ today. Dont they make the 33's look small !

The front mudflaps are goin to have to go, they rub on lock and will have to flex it up to see how the rears go. There is a slight rub mark inside the drivers side rear wheel tub from the 33's so I dare say the 35's may rub in the same spot, but will wait and see.

what pressures are you guys running in the 35 inch claws?

sidewall says max of 35psi at full load so how much would I need just for getting around without much weight.

I am particulary interested in hearing from GQ owners with claws as it may be dependant on vehicle weight (ie sierra Vs patrol would be quite different pressures)

I ran about 36-40psi on road, and air down to 20 for general off-raod/gravel roads. 15 for mud etc.

Mine only get used on the bitumen for the 300km odd to where we're going wheeling, then its all low pressure from there.

i run mine on the road when i cant be assed taking them off :P they weigh too much, anyhow, i tend to leave them around 38 ish if im empty, but once the tyres look a little un level i drop it back to 32 to eaven the claw out, and as far as bush work goes 18 psi is the start, and i go down from there :D

Its 2" coils. The original rubber locator things had perished, so i replaced them with 15mm spacers, so now it has settled back to ~2". They are 35x11.5x15's. I'd have liked to get 10.5's but they don't make these tyres in a 35x10.5x15.

I couldn't order them and the Silverstone website also indicates this (http://www.silverstone.com.my/#1224158822411). How old are your tyres? Perhaps that size was discontinued?
